Message: "Idony" - Behind the Name

How is Idony properly pronounced? I've looked at several sites and found "AYE-duh-nee", "ih-DOH-nee", "ah-dun-AYE". Most seem to agree it comes from Idunn (don't know how to make that symbol like a little "o" with a carrot over it that sounds like a hard "th"), but no site...not even Wiki...gives a pronunciation of this name from Norse mythology, other than a user comment of "ee-thun".

A video I found gives Idunn pronounced as "ih-DOON" by the narrator.

Two videos I found with people by the name, Idony...one a British teenager who introduces herself, and one a birthday party of a British toddler with guests saying her name...use the "AYE-duh-nee" pronunciation.

This last happens to be the sound I prefer (AYE, rhymes with "eye" as far as I can tell), but I wouldn't want to use it that way if it's only a popular butchering, as with Caitlin being said as "KATE-lyn".

I want to say it's pronounced AYE-duh-nee but I can't be sure.
Idony Lilac is so cute! Love it. I like all of the combos you listed.

I love Idony!

I don't think the [EYE-do-nee] pronunciation is incorrect. Idony being the anglicised form of the name, it's only natural to assume English-speakers would pronounce it the same way they pronounce Iris or Isis - with a "eye" sound.

Idun / Idunn is pronounced EE-dun in Swedish, and I believe it's pretty much the same in Norwegian.
Idun is alright, but I don't like Idony. I prn it AYE-duh-nee.

Dunno... I don't really like it at all. I find it similarly unattractive to names like Imogen and Rhiannon. (which some people love and I just don't get the fascination 'cause calling them attractive is the polite way of stating my oppinion on them sound-wise... but not everyone appreciates my name choices either)
