It looks like an oriental person who can't distinguish between r and l heard the name Margaret and tried to write it w/out looking at it. Margalit doesn't look right at all... and is too close to Marguerite... How about Shinju, if you're looking for pearly names? It's Jpns. for pearl and is occasionally used as a name.
