Rosalyn was the first child born away from the royal city. She was born at Eirian's seaside estate, where she and Darius have been living for nearly a year. This move was prompted by another frightening episode. Eirian was making a public appearance with Arianna and one-year-old Nico when an explosive powder was thrown at them. Eirian protected the children, but suffered burns and some temporary vision loss from the explosion. This was the last straw for King William, and he ordered Darius, Eirian, and the children to leave the city. They were too involved in government to go far, so they chose Eirian's estate, only a half-day from the city but still secluded enough to make them feel more secure. No one is sure why these events happen so rarely and sporadically, but they still greatly worry everyone. They did not allow this worry to diminish their joy in the birth of their daughter. Everyone says Rosalyn is the most beautiful baby they have ever seen. While Arianna is a little copy of Eirian and Nico looks just like Darius, Rosalyn combined the best attribute of both her parents; Eirian's beautiful violet eyes, Darius's rich hair color and the best features of them both. At three months old, she is unusually alert and is always looking around. Everyone says she looks at people as if she already knows about them. Nothing has happened since she was born, and there is tentative hope that these incidents are unrelated and isolated. But Eirian has not told anyone that she recently recieved another note. It said, "You are their daughter. They were not only what you think." She is unsure what to think...
