Martin is good, though I don't know one younger than 30, but Marty is really not my style at all: sounds like a minor pop-music person prior to 1963.

LOVE the name Martin... not too fond of the nickname Marty, though.

I like Martin, but I have a oft spot for Marten. Marty is alright, but I don't really like it that much.

I like Martin a lot; it's friendly and attractive in a quiet way. I'm not wild about Marty, but it's not that bad. All the Martins I've known have gone by the full thing, or Mart.

I don't care for the nn Marty. There's nothing wrong with it, just not a personal favorite. But Martin -- now that's a different story. I used to overlook Martin. But I've recently started to fal under his understated charm. It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for, isn't it? Still waters run deep with Martin. I find him intelligent, kind and good humored.

I always thought of Martin as dated and stale and then my neighbor named her son Martin (he's about 5 now), so now I'm more in favor of it, but it's still not my fave. Marty I dislike.

My boyfriend's name is Martin "Marty," and it fits him remarkably well.I love the name (though, admittedly, I'm biased).
