Dan and Ayelet got married not too long ago.
Ayelet comes from an influential Learsian family. Learsi is a democratic republic (much like modern countries) that wants peace. Ayelet has always been one for this idea (of world peace) and so the ruler of Learsi, a close friend of her family's, decided to send her and her husband on a diplomatic mission to help ease peace into the region.
Dan is also Learsian. He comes from a common family, but in Learsi class doesn't really have a bearing on much. His father was a player and cheated on his mother plenty when they were married. His two oldest younger siblings are full blood and the little one is a half.

I like how you often have older siblings raising or taking care of younger ones. It's not done a lot on this board and I think it's a good theme. It especially fits in the time period of this game when a lot of women didn't survive childbirth. Also the first round will be tomorrow, but the one after that won't be until Tuesday or so, so you'll have pleny of time to catch up. And where are your family diplomats to, Ardelus or Kriana?
