[Opinions] I love Bud! (m)

I guess I'm biased towards it because Bud was my father's name. His name was really Joseph, but he was always called Bud, never Joseph or Joe. I have only heard of it as a nickname for a totally unrelated name. Coincidentally, my maternal grandfather also was called Bud, and that too was a nickname for an unrelated name, Byram.
But yes, I think Bud is such a nice, handsome nickname, it always makes me think of cute, really nice guy.
It never occurred to me that it could be a nickname for a *related* name, but you've come up with some that it could be, obviously. I've never heard of any of them, and, of course, they all seem strange and foreign to me--- butI like Budimir the most.
Budimir nn Bud---go for it!
