[Games] For those of you how judge CAFs and other games...
What is your criteria for judging?I'm probably going to start my own judged game. I've done a few of these before, but not for a long while. I wonder what the judging standard is now? How do you rate combos, individual names, etc? Do you aim to be objective or subjective? What aspects of a name or combos factor into your judgement? Are some things more important than others? I would just like to know, as it interests me.Arcadia

It's just an object. It doesn't mean what you think

I copy everyones entries onto a word document and delete the ones I don't like, line by line. Then see what I've got left at the end!

I'm totally subjective, my #1 criteria is whether or not I like it, I do also take into account flow, if the names work together, and originality. That's mainly for initial CAFs, for name bank CAFs, I try to judge on flow, how well they fit together and originality (at least in combos). As for like NtNB, I do judge somewhat on the factors above, but more so on whether they fit in with the rest of the family.

I just pick the ones I like.**Disclaimer: None of the ideas above are mind. They are given to me by Luther and Fernando, the 10 inch space aliens living under my desk. In return they are given permission to eat any dust bunnies they may find.

I rate combos. My factors are flow, if I like the names and the combos and/or if they fit the criteria I asked for (if I wanted trynee names and someone gave me Lyyannah Jaydylynne, I might have them win, but not because I liked the name).I don't know what you mean by objective and subjective. If you mean do I let my personal liking of the posters influence my decision, no, I try not to.But really, in the end, how you judge is all up to you, since it's your game. You can mention what you're looking for in the post, if you like.

*I don't know what you mean by objective and subjective. If you mean do I let my personal liking of the posters influence my decision, no, I try not to*That's exactly what I mean: do you let your likes and dislikes influence your choices. I your case, you try to be objective, trying not to let your tastes influence the outcome. If one is being subjective, they might judge based on their tastes.Arcadia
