This round one year has passed and your couple has had their first child/ren together. You may choose gender and multiples up to triplets are allowed. Please age your couple one year. If I left out people in your family (if you listed siblings/family living with you/etc) just include them in the round and I'll add them to my own list. Look for your family under the empire they live in.
Prompt: The race is on! A Krianan explorer has discovered an archipeligo of islands rich in spices and valuable oils, and the race is on between Kriana and their traditional rival, Ardelus, to colonize and gain control of as many islands as possible. Both already have colonies all over the world, but both are hungry for more land and influence. How has this latest race for riches affected your family?

Rival Empires Congrats
I decided to try something a little different for my new congrats. There will be two empires, complete with enough far-flung colonies and foreign diplomats to satisfy the most diverse naming tastes. These two empires will be rivals, sometimes friendly and sometimes not (think France and England during). There will be two royal couples, and the first people to claim them will get them (I won’t claim one unless no one else does, as that is unfair). At the beginning of each round I will post a VERY brief prompt, something like a treaty is being talked of or war has broken out or a new colony has been gained, and in your story you can tell how this has affected your family. Thus stories are greatly encouraged, but not required. In your post make it clear which empire you are part of. The first person posting as a native of somewhere sets the general naming language for that place (though you can branch out a little; i.e. Katarina or Marius in a mainly-English empire). The first to be from a colony may name it, and others may choose to be from that colony as well. I STRONGLY SUGGEST you read all other signups before you choose your homeland or category. All but poor commoners, nobles, and royal families may be foreign-born. Any noble or commoner may be in the military. The categories you may choose from are:
Noble family, Ardelusian or Krianan. Ladies-in-waiting, knights, family of the rulers, and such will be in this category.
Foreign diplomatic family, from anywhere, not only one of the two empires or colonies.
Influential common family, i.e. politician or philosopher.
Well-to-do common family, i.e. a merchant or prosperous farmer.
Poor common family, i.e. peasant or beggar or poor craftsman
Colonial family, anything from former nobility to the poorest commoner. Can use any language you want.
Palace staff family, anything from personal secretaries and stewards to kitchen maids and gardners.
Think Tudor/Elizabethan era for the feel of this game. Not necessarily English, just a mid-1500s to early-1600s type of world. Use this to inspire the names you choose, wherever they are from. I would suggest starting European for at least one empire and then branching out to more exotic places for the colonies, though this is not at all necessary. Let’s see how this works. Any type of couple goes, even adulterous, same-sex, or polyamorous. These can be an open secret (i.e. everyone knows but no one openly confronts) or totally secret, but a spouse must be implemented at some point fairly early in the game, if only as a cover.

Gabriel and Rosalie have been quite busy. The news of the discovery of the islands sent Gabriel into a frenzy of writings. His secodn pamphlet, entitled rather simply "Ruminations on the Discovery of the Spice Islands," was radical in its rejection of the idea of joining the race to conquer. Rather, he showed the benefits of waiting, avoiding conflict with Kriana, and then negotiating trade with them. He was against the idea of conquering them all together, as he is opposed to snatching inhabited land from the natives. He is opposed to cruelty of all sorts, and denounces the rush to conquer on priciple. Rosalie's pen has not been idle on the discovery of these islands either, and her collection "The Ship's Departure" is myriad of poems all centering around the departure of the first voyage to the islands. They range from the excited optimisim of a naieve young sailor who later dies at sea to a moving lament of a young woman bidding her lover farewell and her forboding that this will be their last parting. Both pamphlet and poems have offended King Thibault as they are agaisnt his plans to sieze the islands. He has decided that the best way to deal with it, however, is to ignore it as if it is unimportant, and hope that the young upstarts will publish no more.

Ezio and Rosa Auditore were a couple from Renzife, a nobleman and his ex-commoner wife who had recently come to stay at Kriana. While most people would assume their plight to be diplomatical, especially since Ezio was in close to Lorenzo of Renzife, they had actually went to Kriana for more personal reasons. Mysterious circumstances in their homeland found the Auditore family nearly vanishing a few years ago, with Ezio as the only male survivor, and he had managed to survive those years by living under the protection of the de facto ruler, Lorenzo. Years later, he met Rosa by thoroughly unromantic events (she was a thief who had tried to pick his pocket), but time passed and they fell in love. Having just recently married, Lorenzo informed the young couple to escape Renzife, as he had sensed looming danger.
Now, Ezio and Rosa had just arrived at Kriana, and just settled down in their Palazzo Auditore. Rosa was heavily pregnant, and a few weeks after arriving, gave birth to the couple's first son, Fede. Ezio was jubilant, and had no wish to further busy himself with the news of the recently-discovered settlements: he was there to rebuild his family, and that was all he wanted.

Arthur gladly accepted, but had to retract his pledge as his spoilt wife Emmeline was quite content living the high life in Kriana. The King instead granted influential politician Victor Hamilton the position of Duke of the Islands, a move Arthur highly endorsed.
Arthur believed that if anyone could successfully colonise the islands and keep the Ardelus Empire at bay at the same time, it would be Victor. Yet Arthur was growing weary, as he had it on good authority that King Thibault had heard of Henry's successful mission, and had assembled his army - the Ardelusian's were on their way to the islands. Arthur had briefly discussed the recent developments with the King, but was unsure if Henry was listening to him, or if he was as concerned as he was, and if so, what his course of action would be.
Meanwhile, Emmeline gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Cecilia and, as usual, was her old spoilt self. In fact, Arthur believed Emmeline was growing more narcissistic by the day - the addition of Cecilia added to her gloating. Yet Arthur would have it no other way - he is blinded by love.

Nick and Anna have, rather surprisingly, had triplets. Anna was rather small at nine months for triplets, and the three little ones, two girls and a boy, came out rather small, as well. Little Edie, Isaak, and Jutte are the apples of both Nick's and Anna's eyes.
When the rush to colonize the new group of islands started, Nick's brothers immediately rushed off to join. Nick knew that with three new babies at once he wouldn't be able to go... not that he really wanted to, though. He was happy to stay in Ardelus with Anna and the children. Besides, he and Anna were in charge of their youngest siblings. He couldn't let them down. The only thing that disappoints him, is that he is now separated from his brothers.

Nick and Anna have, rather surprisingly, had triplets. Anna was rather small at nine months for triplets, and the three little ones, two girls and a boy, came out rather small, as well. Little Edie, Isaak, and Jutte are the apples of both Nick's and Anna's eyes.
When the rush to colonize the new group of islands started, Nick's brothers immediately rushed off to join. Nick knew that with three new babies at once he wouldn't be able to go... not that he really wanted to, though. He was happy to stay in Ardelus with Anna and the children. Besides, he and Anna were in charge of their youngest siblings. He couldn't let them down. The only thing that disappoints him, is that he is now separated from his brothers.

King Thibault knew that making a colony of such a place would be beneficial for the Ardelusian people sent scouts to see how much of an advantage King Henry already had. Scouts reported back that their army had already mobilised, and that a politician named Victor Hamilton had already been choosen to be the new head of state of the archipeligo.
King Thibault mobilised his men, of course leading them. He was devestated to have to leave Juliette as she was heavily pregnant, but as a King he did not have a choice but to go, and pray that she and their unborn child would be safe. He left Juliette with the support of his mother, Queen Mother Gisèle, his also heavily pregnant sister-in-law Apolline, and many physicians.
With support from many influential families, particularly the Beauxchamp's, Thibault increased the size of their marine capabilities and set off. The trip was long and dangerous, and only a few weeks in, Thibault became gravely ill. He was disappointed in his own weakness, but his men loved him still. Reluctantly, he was returned home to recover leaving his men and their quest in the capable hands of his brother and best friend, Prosper.
Upon his return, Thibault discovered that during his absence Juliette had birthed a son! Thibault was thrilled to have an heir, and they have named him Dieudonne. Juliette and Thibault are so proud of their son who is strong and healthy and looks just like Thibault with dark wavy hair and the trademark Delacroix crystal blue eyes. Thibault was also pleased to have returned home in time to be there in his brothers stead when his sister-in-law Apolline delivered his niece, little Princess Adélaïde. They are sad however that Adélaïde is a sickly child, and a bit disappointed that she was not a boy it must be said. Thibault is planning on rejoining his army once his strength returns and sending Prosper home to meet his child.

Max and Victoire are very happy with the addition of their daughter Aurélie. Aurélie is a beautiful and strong baby. She was born with some difficulty but is very healthy and mother is recovering.
However Max is very upset that he can not leave his family and persue the riches of new lands. Max is a take action kind of guy and hates that even though his money can help support expedition's to these new lands he himself can not go. He is very torn between his family and his sense of adventure.He is hoping that Victoire will produce him an a son quickly so that they can put of making of a family long enough for Max to oversee an expedition. Max even though his line of succession is growing farther remains ever faithful to Ardelus and the Delacroix family. His wish for riches are not for himself as much as it his for his country. Maximilian hopes that his latest ships he financed with the permition of King Thibault will produce greatness and make the Kirian Empire weak with want of the riches they find.
