[Opinions] Ulysses
Is Ulysses usable? Does it need a nickname? Do you like it?

It's usable, I suppose, but it sounds like the kind of name people gave their kids around the Civil War and haven't used much since, like Obadiah.
I know a Ulysses who goes by the nickname Uly.
I always forget how to pronounce this namme.

Love it.
Unfortunately, I dont think it is usable for your typical everyday child. Just mentioning it people sort of give me a look haha. I still think this name is so handsome though. I like the nickname Uly pronounced YOOL-ee.

Maybe as a middle name. But kids would make fun of him (although kids make fun of everything, but you don't want to make it easy on them). Uli would be a good nickname
Ulysses S Grant found it usable, so it wouldn't be totally unfamiliar even if people don't know their Greek myths. Latin versions of Greek myths actually ...
I wouldn't use it but I wouldn't flee screaming if I met one.

It's usable. I do not think it needs a nickname (partly because it's so hard to find a nickname for the name Ulysses). I like it very much.
Oh, I adore Ulysses! I consider the vast majority of names "usable," so I approve of it in that respect.
I don't think it needs a nickname; Uli ("YOO-lee") would be pretty darn cute, though.
