[Opinions] Re: Avalon
in reply to a message by xPrincess27x
There was a pop song about 25 years ago I suppose, perhaps longer, either called Avalon or about an Avalon person. I never heard it, but I did meet a woman whose daughter (now deep in her 20s) was named Avalon after the song because it was absolutely the only name her father would even consider. They were Irish. I found it weird, but as pop-song names go, it could have been worse.

Roxy Music
The song, and the album - which had "More Than This" on it too.
*sigh* I must be getting old, because I'm totally boggled (and a little sad) that out of all these responses, only one person associates Roxy Music, and you can't even remember the song.
But I guess that is good news for any other pop-culture name obsessions people might have. They're forgotten so quickly, and it becomes just a name.

It's worse! I never knowingly heard the song ... but my informant's DH clearly loved it quite excessively. In fact, now I'm trying to remember any Roxy Music song, and failing.
