[Opinions] Rosella
I came across this name today and was wondering what everyone thought of it? I've never heard it before but I think it is very pretty. Has anyone ever heard it used before? How would it sound with Cecily for sisters? What about Roselle?

This is the name of the main character in the game "King's Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella" (part of a series, obviously). I loved that game to bits when I was younger, so I like the name :)

It doesn't sound too contrived to me, although I've never heard of it. I'd prefer Rosella over Roselle. I think it would be a better middle name, not sure why.

I've met one Roselle (in Canada) and one Rosella (visiting Jpn. from the Philippines and I think they're both lovely names. I don't like Cecily w/ anything because of the meaning, but even if I did, it doesn't go well w/ Roselle.

Sounds like a disease. Roselle is better, but there are so many Ella, Elle etc names at the moment that I'd really avoid it. What about Rosalind as a sister for Cecily, or Rosamond, or even good old Rosemary?

I'm a big fan of Rose and Rose- names (for honoring purposes, but also just because I like the sound), but Rosella sounds a bit contrived to me. It's pretty, but I don't know if it's an established name. Of course, that shouldn't stop you from using/liking it!Cecily and Rosella work well for sisters, but I think I would prefer Cecily and Rose or Cecily and Rosabel.

Yes, there's a character in The Princess Tales with this name. I think it's a beautiful name!
