I think it is too masculine. It is too hard and unflattering. I pronounce it TAH-mar, just like you. I was not aware that it was a Biblical name. If you were to use it, I think it would make a better middle name. As for your combos, I like Tamar Rosalind, Tamar Rosemary, Tamar Winifred.

It does have quite a masculine sound. Oddly enough, I never really thought about that before. Paired with a frillier name, I think it's okay though. :)
