[Opinions] Siobhan, Sinead, or Saoirse?
Which do you prefer, and why? Also, what do you think of Laoise? I'm on an Irish name kick today. :)

Sinead. I think it sounds the prettiest and least harsh out of all three, but I'm not wild about the association with Sinead O'Connor.I don't like Laoise, sorry. It sounds like spitting to my ears.

Definitely Saoirsenm

Saoirse no doubtIt's got to be my favourite Celtic name. It's fresher and more interesting than the other two, though I like Siobhan as well, not so much Sinead.

SiobhanI like the way it looks and sounds the best. It was kind of nice to hear it used in an independent movie I recently saw, too.

SiobhanI like the sound of Sinead too, but it does make me think of Sinead O'Connor and I'm not a fan. Saoirse is a bit too trendy and word-namey for me.

SineadI adore both Siobhan and Sinead and really like Saoirse. But if I were asked to list my top three Irish girl's names they would be Niamh, Aoife and Sinead (although Mairead gives Sinead a good run for her money). So of course I have to vote for Sinead here. It's so delicate and feminine sounding. I don't know why it isn't more popular. My niece is Clare Siobhan. Her father wanted her to be Siobhan Clare, which would have been terrific too. I see the name Siobhan as Sinead's more robust sister. :-)

Sinead.

SineadSinead! I love the sound of it and also think it is the easiest to pronounce for people unfamiliar with Irish names.I dislike Laoise

Saoirse most definitely! A favorite of mine.
Laoise is ok, though I don't like the name Alisha, which it sounds quite similar to, so this puts me off it.

SaoirseLove the meaning, plus theres a Saoirse in Ella's class, so I have a good association.I want to like Laoise, but I don't. For some reason it makes me think of louse. I much prefer some of the other Irish names - Caoimhe, Aoibhe, Sorcha, Aisling (to name a few).

SaoirseI like Saorise the best. I like the look of Siobhan, but I do not like the sound of it. Sinead is just okay to me.

I love Saoirse. I love its meaning and the way it sounds. It's easily my favorite here, but I also like Siobhan. It's what I think of as quirky and cool. OTOH, Sinead has never appealed to me on any level. I don't know why. It should, but it doesn't.

Saoirse.By far the prettiest sounding and most visually appealing to me!Laoise, unfortunately, doesn't do anything for me. Sounds a little icky to me.

I like Saoirse best from these 3 (I prefer the SAIR-sha pronunciation to SEER-sha)
Siobhan is really 80s to me. I know like, 5 Siobhans all born in the 80s and no others, older or younger.
Sinead doesn't really sound pretty to me. Neither does Laoise.

Saoirse because of the sound and look. I also like Siobhan, however, Saoirse is more approachable IMO.
Laoise is cool. I like the look, but the sound is a little boring.

Saoirse! Definately

My fave would be Saoirse, no special reason I just lie the sound best.
Laoise I'm not a fan of, too much like leash for my taste.

I like all three, but I like Saoirse the best, which unfortunately would probably be the most likely to be misspelled and mispronounced here in the States. It has the prettiest sound though.Laoise doesn't really do much for me. It reminds me of the word "leash." I prefer Siobhan, Sinead, and Saoirse. How about Caoimhe? I think it's really pretty when it's pronounced KEE-va.

I love all three! I'd say Saoirse is my favorite, but Sinead is in a close second. Siobhan has a decent amount of popularity in my area (a lot of Irish families, Siobhan and Sinead are the go to names when you want to be more Irish than Megan, Kathleen or Erin) so I find it a bit tired and trying to hard, but it is still just beautiful! Laoise is cute to, but for some reason just doesn't sound complete to me.

Of those three, my favorite is Siobhan, because I think it's the most versatile in terms of the age of the bearer.
Laoise is an awesome alternative to Alicia.
