Noah has been itching to go to Hogwarts for years, and Arthur's letters home and stories over Christmas holiday only intensified Noah's desire. He spent the entire summer checking the sky for tawny owls and peeking over Arthur's shoulder as he completed his summer assignments.
Noah is much more rambunctious than his older brother, but generally a good boy. He stands up for other kids and is very proud of his mother's job as an Auror. Unlike Arthur, Noah adores Quidditch and follows Puddlemere United faithfully. His favorite player is one Oliver Wood. He has heard that Wood's children at Hogwarts and is even more excited about getting his letter. He hopes to try out for the Quidditch team second year (Harry Potter will remain the youngest player of the century, the Headmaster has expressly declared) and Jack and Alana have promised to buy him a broom if he keeps his grades up and stays (mostly) out of trouble.
When the owls finally arrived at the Kensington residence, Arthur's enthusiasm surprised Noah, who finds his older brother to be rather stuffy and boring at times. Noah, of course, was ecstatic to receive his letter and bounced around the house in the week between the letter's arrival and the family trip to Diagon Alley. He even "borrowed" Arthur's robes and wand once and tore around the house pretending to be Harry Potter. Arthur, for his part, was not amused, and spent the afternoon cleaning Noah's fingerprints off of his beloved wand.
The family trip to Diagon Alley went very well. Noah managed to sit still through his robe fitting and avoid being stuck with a pin. Alana enjoyed seeing her oldest, shyest child opening up while replenishing his supplies and buying his books. Twelve-year-old Arthur has come out of his shell after a year at Hogwarts, making many friends in Ravenclaw house, such as Verity McCormic, Oliver Pennington, and the von Brandt twins. Noah greatly enjoyed meeting Mr. Ollivander and getting his very own wand, which is made of rowan wood and contains a phoenix feather, unlike his brother's which is willow and unicorn hair.
Finally, September 1st arrived and the Kensington family ventured off into London proper to see their two oldest boys to the school year at Hogwarts! The younger children are beginning to get excited for their own time at the school of witchcraft and wizardry.
Noah was very happy to be sorted in to Gryffindor like his father. He loves living in the Gryffindor Tower with other boys his age, and is excited to start learning magic like his parents and Arthur. Noah was a little homesick at first, but he spent some time with Arthur and wrote home to his parents for a picture of the family and has gotten over his homesickness to put his whole heart into school and all the fun it entails!
