[Opinions] Thoughts on Felix?
I'm not sure if I like it or not. Is it too connected with Felix the Cat to be usable? I mainly like it because of Mendelssohn. Is it becoming trendy? Are there any positives or negatives you can think of? Combo ideas? Thoughts in general?TIA!

DH and I love the name Felix and should we have another child in the future and it's a boy, then Felix is definitely a name up for discussion. Sure, I think of Felix the cat, but so what. It doesn't put me off the name.

Felix is one of my very favourite names! It's cheerful, plucky, quirky yet classic, and even has an x in it--what's not to love? I'm not bothered by the cat association, but a lot of other people seem to be. Oh well. I certainly hope it isn't becoming trendy, though I wouldn't mind seeing a few more little Felixes around.Combos:
Silvester Felix / Felix Silvester- I love these combos so much, but the cartoon cat comments would probably never end.
Edmund Felix
Felix Peregrine
Felix Judicaël (Judicael)
Felix Erasmus
Felix Ambrose

I associate Felix with cats because my cat is named Felix. And yes we named him after Felix the Cat. Haha. So Felix will always be inextricably linked to felines in my mind. However, that doesn't mean I still wouldn't like to see a little boy called Felix. But the first thing I'd think of would be Felix the Cat. I don't really feel like it's that trendy. I don't know of anyone who has named their child Felix. Here are some combos.Felix Victor
Felix Graham
Felix Josiah
Felix Amadeus
Felix Oscar
Felix Julian
Felix Spencer
Felix Lionel

Nooo!First I find out Jasper is a Twilight name, and now Felix!I guess it's not all bad if it lessens the cat association, but still... D:

You know what else is a Twilight name?Michael. Jessica. Jane. James. Victoria. Charlie. Kate. Maggie. Liam. Chelsea. Garrett. Mary. Charles. Makenna. Paul. Sam. Billy. Let's just avoid them all. Just because Felix was used on some minor character [he probably appears in less than 5 chapters across the entire four books] in Twilight does not make Felix a "TWILIGHT NAME"
Seriously "oh no it's a twilight name" is the silliest thing to complain worry about. The only real ~~~TWILIGHT NAME~~~ is Renesmee. All the others are normal names.

I was mostly being facetious.I've just lately noticed lots of people (IRL and online) responding to what I think of as lovely, classic names with "Yeah, like the Twilight character!"No sum of cartoon cats or sparkly vampires could make me avoid Felix, anyway. :P

I was replying to this whole little collection of "oh no twilight name" repliesYou just used the term "Twilight name", so it fit best under you.I've noticed the same thing as you. No idea how many times I've heard people say "Jacob and Isabella are the number #1 names BECAUSE OF TWILIGHT".
uh lol no, they're not.

But Renesmee is a very pretty name and should still be used even if it is a Twilight name

All I hear is feel licks and the cat, is also a strong association.

I work at a short term daycare and I have seen a couple kids named Felix. I don't think it's becoming too popular, that is to say trendy, but I do like it a lot.
