[Opinions] Saskia?
What are your opinions of this name? And most imporatnly, what kind of girl/women do you picture when you hear the name? It is too unusual for a girl in America? How does it sound with Andreas Peter "Ace" and Julian Edgar "Jed"?Also, what nns can you think of? Beyond the obsvious Sassy. Possible combos:
Saskia Maren
Saskia Elizabeth
Saskia Renee
Saskia Isabel

I really like Saskia and all Saskias I ever met were confident girls and very friendly. I think Saskia Maren and Saskia Isabel are cute! For a nickname... How about Sky or Skye? I don't like those as full first names but I think they'd make awesome nicknames and since you like the not so obvious nicknames... ;)

I like Sky thanks! That was the type of less obvious nn that I was looking for. Ace, Jed, and Sky good make a good pairing.

I love Saskia, but I prefer it with a soft S and I'm not sure if that's legitimate or not...
I like the nn Saski. Actually, the main reason I like Saskia is because of a book character named Saski (or was it Saaski?) Something like that. Anyway, a shorter nn to sit in with Ace and Jed could be Kia.
I like Saskia Isabel, and Saskia Maren.

A soft 'S' would be exactly the right way to pronounce it (ZAHZ-kee-ah)! In German most 'S' sounds are pronounced like the English 'Z' :)

I mixed up hard and soft, maybe... I meant to say that it's supposed to be ZAHZ-kee-ah but I always waht to say SAHS-kee-ah.

Well, you'd get away with it in the US ;)

I love it. So spunky and girly. Cute nn potential (Sassy, Kia). I don't live in the US so I'm not sure how unusual it is there, porbably slightly less unusual here in Aus than it is there- it's not unusual to see it in the BA's here.It sounds just fine with your boys names. If I had to name another girl to go along with the set, I'd pick Annika or Freya.Sasky, Kia, Sass?I like Saskia Maren, Saskia Elizabeth and Saskia Renee. Too much s sound in Saskia Isabel.

I've encountered the name Saskia twice. Both girls are about 20 years old, and American. I think it's interesting, not too out there. I get the impression that the bearer would be refined, kind of quirky, and outgoing. I like it with both your boys combos.Nicknames:
Kia (but that might remind people of the car company)
Zak or Zaki (with Zak pronounced like "Zach")Combos:
Saskia Ellen
Saskia Rachel
Saskia Grace
Saskia Pearl

My SO name is Zach, so Zak probably wont work. Although I do like the similarity between the names. I dont prn it with Z sound, I say sah-ski-uh. I'm leaning towards Sas right now unless something else hits me. It took me a long time before Ace and Jed hit me. I like less obvious nns.

I've recently discovered it and I really like it. I don't think it would be too unusual for a girl in America, I would use it and I live in Canada.Sas and Sassy are adorable NNs but you could always use Kia too.Saskia Maren is very cutePersonally, my favorite combo is Saskia Eloise.
