In elementary school, a good friend of mine was named Danica. She had the prettiest hair I've ever seen; it reached almost to her waist and was so blonde it looked white. Ever since then, I've liked the name a lot, as well as its meaning.

It's an ok name. Not something I would use but not a bad name either.

I worked with a girl who named her newborn daughter Danica last year. It's all right, but considered a little redneck-y where I live.

Really? Redneck-y is the last thing it would seem to me. Well, that's one reason for asking questions---to learn things.

I think it's because it didn't become popular until Danica Patrick, and a lot of rednecks are really into NASCAR. That's my guess, anyway.
