Timotei's a type of shampoo, so both Timotei and Timofei remind me of that. They're not really my style, either. I'd have to go with Timofei, I guess...

Timo is an ok name, but i dont like either of these

I much prefer Timofei. It seems a much more natural transition from Timothy to a Slavic name in my mind. That said Timotei looks better typed imo.

I way prefer Timofei. For some reason Timotei is so much lamer I can't even begin to describe how much lamer it is, whereas Timofei I think was on my old PNL. It's so friendly and interesting. I dunno.

It seemed like every time I read a cool, 19th century Russian novel there was a minor character, usually a butler or other servant, named Timofei. His wife was invariably Marfa.

I have so many wonderful memories of being a teen-aged bookworm and loving those books. So Timofei has a place in my heart and gets my vote here. Besdies, Timotei is so close to Timothy (verbally and visually) that it's better to be as different as possible, to avoid confusion. Timofei (in my mind at least) is farther from Timothy than Timotei is, if that makes sense.
