[Opinions] Regarding Magnolia's Southern charm: (m)
I agree with queenv, that it is VERY Southern. In fact it's on my middle name list for that very reason! As the official tree of Mississippi, and the official flower of Louisiana, its blossom is, to me a symbol of Southern grace and charm. I live in Texas, have roots in Mississippi, Louisiana, and almost every other southern state, so I think it really fits me and my family.Wordsmith, I see that you live in New York. I think if I ran into a Magnolia in New York, I would think it was a bit odd. I'm not saying you shouldn't use it. I'm just trying to give you an inside view of what others may be thinking when you announce the name.
