Another two years have passed. The discontent about Princess Adelheid's unpopular marriage has cooled in the wake of another new controversial move. Relations with England have been good for decades thanks to the marriage of King Wolfgang to Elizabeth, now Dowager Queen. After a visit to her homeland, the dowager returned with three English ladies, announcing her intention to introduce them to the court. That was all well and good; the three young girls were pretty and well-mannered, and within a few months the Dowager had found husbands for all of them. That was when the problem came up. One of the girls, Lady Mary James, refused to marry the young man she had been promised to. She was eighteen, and the man waas only twenty and one she had shown favor to. Then it came to light that she had not only been carrying on a liason with one of the fifteen-year-old stable boys, but that she was pregnant by him! The girl was sent back to England and the boy was dismissed, but the bad conduct of Lady Mary shocked the entire court.

A few months after Klara's first birthday, Rosita found herself to be pregnant again. She had a feeling it would be another girl, but hoped she was wrong, as she knew Heinrich would be upset if he didn't get a son.
Unfortunately, her feeling was right on. Rosita gave birth to a second healthy girl. Hoping to cool her husband's anger somewhat, she named the newborn Emilie, after Heinrich. (The girl's middle name, Berta, was the name of Rosita's late mother.)
Disappointed and upset by his lack of sons, Heinrich spends little time at home anymore. Rosita has taken to working part-time at the bakery in order to supplement the very meager allowance Heinrich leaves her for food. A kind woman, the bakery owner allows Rosita to bring Klara and Emilie to work with her. Luckily, Emilie is a fairly quiet and content baby, and Klara the baker often has trinkets for Klara the toddler to keep her busy while Rosita works.
Another perk to working at the bakery is that Gregor, the baker's (young and single) son, is rather handsome and always has a smile for Rosita.
Amidst all of the turmoil and chaos of everyday life, Rosita hardly has time to worry about goings-on at the palace, though she does overhear snippets of gossip throughout the day.

Joseph was fiercely proud of his son with his bright hair, Kaarmann blue eyes, and robust cry. He felt jilted when everyone overlooked his stalwart little son for Crown Prince August and his sister's French princess. His sympathy for Adleheid had been growing as his wife proved to be a woman Joseph could love, but when her daughter's birth eclipsed that of his son, he cooled somewhat to his distant younger sister. To escape the frustration he felt at Court, Joseph and Maria Elisabeth have begun to visit Princess Magdalena rather regularly.

While in England Adelmar indulged himself in the traditional military fashion, drinking and womanizing. He took a particular fancy to a young English lady of rank, Mary James. She played hard to get, but once she had been able to secure a position in the Dowager's personal court thru Adelmar's influence, she gave in to him.
Meanwhile, back at home in the family seat of Saxewald, Swanahilda, now a much more confident woman and mother found herself pregnant once more. She knew that she needed to bear a son for her husband to help secure the succession of the family's holdings, least some unscrupulous noble's try wed her daughter Rosmunda, or Rosa as she is affectionately called, at a young age, much as her cousin-husband had done to her.
Much to her dismay she would have to write to Adelmar and tell him of the birth of their second daughter, Hadewig Lisbeth, named for the current Queen, Hedwig, and her Dowager Mother-in-law. Swanahilda explained in the letter to Adelmar that she felt it would help endear the family even more so to the Royal Family, especially since Adelmar has often voiced his opposition to the marital alliance with the hated French.

The Kingdom of Bial is dishonored with the illicit behaviors of the English Lady Mary and her affairs with a young stable boy. All of Bial is gossiping over who’s having affairs with who. The poor judgment of Walter’s mother the Dowager Queen Elizabeth has caused great shame to Walter. The whole of Bial is not usually accustomed to these sorts of affairs being aired out for the public. While it is no secret that inside the royal court there are many liaisons between parties in unhappy marriages, Bial usually handles the affairs in a quite dignified manner.
The rumor’s flying all through the town of whose having an affair with who have caused Walter to act differently around those he cares about. Walter fears that the reason Eleonore has disappeared from court is do to the gossip.

The Kingdom of Bial is dishonored with the illicit behaviors of the English Lady Mary and her affairs with a young stable boy. All of Bial is gossiping over who’s having affairs with who. The poor judgment of Walter’s mother the Dowager Queen Elizabeth has caused great shame to Walter. The whole of Bial is not usually accustomed to these sorts of affairs being aired out for the public. While it is no secret that inside the royal court there are many liaisons between parties in unhappy marriages, Bial usually handles the affairs in a quite dignified manner.
The rumor’s flying all through the town of whose having an affair with who have caused Walter to act differently around those he cares about. Walter fears that the reason Eleonore has disappeared from court is do to the gossip.

Shortly after Josef's birth, Diederich was tasked to accompany the Dowager Queen Elizabeth to her native England. Although he was understandably loath to leave behind his wife and newborn son, Diederich obeyed his orders and summoned his finest troops for the protective detail.
Elizabeth stayed longer than expected -- over a year. When she finally decided to return to Bial, she brought with her three young English ladies, intending to introduce them at the Bialan court. Diederich silently approved of two of the women, but the third unnerved him for some reason. From the moment they met, he thought her to be deceptive and calculating, though she wore the mask of propriety with skill.
Upon the contingent's return to Bial, Diederich rushed straight back home. He had missed his wife and son terribly, especially since Josef had grown so much in his absence. He and Johanna did not hesitate to make up for lost time, and nine months later, a second son, Mattias, was born. But his birth was overshadowed by the simultaneous arrival of another boy for the king and queen, as well as the shocking scandal that Lady Mary James -- the same woman who had put Diederich on edge -- had shunned her well-to-do engagement and was pregnant by a fifteen-year-old stable boy.
The kingdom was shocked and disappointed -- but none more so than Diederich, who was once again obliged to leave his wife and newborn baby to escort Lady James back to England. That was something that even Orlaisian diplomats would not expect even in the loose behaving nobility of Orlais. The stable boy being innocient is as likely as a bear appearing in the Netherlands or Orlais for that matter. The spying operations have gone great, but I believe that a return to Orlais is unlikely in the near future due to the family growing and the fact that scandals appear often and thus take over all conversation.

Adelheid had only a month’s respite before her husband resumed his nightly visits. Several months later, it was confirmed – the Dauphine was pregnant again! Once more, the Dauphin returned to his lovers and Adelheid regained her own bed. However, only a week or so later, she miscarried. The Dauphin was naturally upset and blamed the miscarriage on Adelheid’s spending so much time out-of-doors. Months later, when she announced that she was once more with child, Louis informed her that he would cease his visits to her bedchamber and that she was forbidden to ride or pick up a bow-and-arrow until the babe was born.
Adelheid’s outdoor activities were restricted to walks in the garden, twice a day. All her other time was spent indoors. Luckily, she was still able to have audiences with Prince Charles, who would often join Adelheid and her ladies on her walks, his wife on his arm. On one of these walks it was discovered that Charles’s wife, Anne-Catherine, was not French, but Orlaisian. Adelheid was confused about why the King and Queen had arranged for their son to marry a daughter of the country that split apart from France, and it was rumored that Anne-Catherine was a spy for Orlais. It was also rumored that she was one of Prince Louis’s many lovers, an irony not lost on Adelheid.
During this time, Adelheid received a letter from her brother, the King. Entailed was an account of the scandal caused by a Lady Mary James of England. Adelheid was shocked at the impropriety shown by the young lady, but more shocking and endlessly, increasingly vexing was Walter’s warning to Adelheid at the end of his letter: that Adelheid had better not take a lover, no matter how awful things were in France. The implication of it was almost enough to propel Adelheid straight into Charles’s arms. She eventually regained control of herself and responded to her brother’s letter.

Louisa is two now and Lord and Lady Howard welcomed the newest arrival to their family another girl much to Lord William's dismay. He had expected to get a son and instead she gives him another girl!! Marie of course is delighted to have another daughter, little Louisa brings her so much joy every day how could she not be happy. Since Caroline's birth William has refused to see Marie, he says she had another girl on purpose to spite him! As if thats even possible!! Hopefully he'll come to his senses eventually.

She had arranged marriages for all 3 of them, but 1 of them Lady Mary James refused her promised man. Turns out a stable boy had got her with child! Everyone in the town's talking about it. William is furious about the whole affair, he says the girl is a disgrace to the people of England and should be burned at the stake. I think thats a little harsh personally maybe the poor girl just fell in love and forgot herself. These things happened in the French Court all the time, of course they were always properly covered up. But of course these days William isn't being the most reasonable person in Bial. Hopefully next time i'll give him a son, if he ever starts to even speak to me again that is!

The last 2 years have been content enough for Eleonore. She has settled into a routine of serving her husband in her wifely duties, but other than that they have little to do with each other. Eleonore knows full well that Heinrich sleeps with their servants, but can not find it in herself to care. She has become very numb over the last few years, and many have commented that she's really only a shadow of her former self, but as far as Eleonore is concerned being numb is better than the misery that had come before. The only joy Eleonore has had in her life for the last two years was Valeria. Valeria has grown into a curious child whom loves the outdoors and has a thirst for knowledge that Eleonore fears may get her into trouble one day.
Eleonore and Valeria still travel to the palace to visit Hedwig and the young Prince August, though these trips have become less frequent as time goes on. Eleonore finds it hard to go there and be so near Walter but not be able to be with him as she so craves, and she's very jealous of Hedwig. Each time she visited she found her discontent with her own life growing, so now just finds it less painful to not go, as much as every fibre of her being misses Walter...
When they received word from the palace that Hedwig was expecting a second child, Eleonore didn't know how to feel. She was happy for her sister, but heartbroken at the same time. Heinrich however responded differently, insisting that if they were having a second child, he and Eleonore must do the same. Alexandra and Nikolaus are extremely pleased to welcome theur second son, Jonathan Albert into the family. The only family member that is less than pleased is Christian, since the new baby gets more of his parents attention.
