The warm fuzziesI really like both Norma and Norman. Personally I lean towards Norman just a taaaad more, I just find the idea of a chubby little toddler Norman so scrumptious, but I like them both.combo time!Norma Juliet - tragic and beautiful! I think this is my favourite. Everything else is paling in comparison to it. Perfect cadence and flow, lovely soft imagery, theatrical and cultured.
Norma Lucille - THIS has old-Hollywood tones to it for me. Divine!
Norma Lucy - A natural pair!
Norma Natalie - normally not a Natalie fan, but this works perfectly and I love the alliteration!
Norma Phoebe - oh charming!
Norma Violet - love the plum and cocoa colour scheme that pops out at me here
Norma Vivien - O'Hara-tastic! Norma Vivian is nice too, doesn't beat around the bush.
Norma Winifred - Edwardian elegance, so healthy and delicately robust.Norman Arthur - could never do anything but tell the truth and help small animals. I love him!
Norman Casper - brown-and-white, simply adorable
Norman Cecil - swingin', the dancing star of a Berlin musical.
Norman Chester - Anyone who gives the time of day to my beloved Chester is king in my books

Yes!!I've been dazzled by Norma for the past few months now. Her counterpart Norman doesn't do as much for me personally, but I would still *love* to see it used. I think an ideal sister for Norma would be Frances - they just seem to go together so perfectly. On to your combos!Norma Beatrice - Two of my favourite names. I'm not as big on Norma Beatrix but I can't put my finger on why. I think maybe Norma needs a calmer name with her so that her spunk isn't overshadowed by her comrade's.
Norma Dagny - Oh my god so much yes
Norma Edith - Not a big fan of the flow, but again, GREAT sisters
Norma Lucy - Oh this is perfect. The flow, the styles, the sounds, everything. I'm jealous.
Norma Sylvie - Very nice. It sounds like a woman of the Silver Screen.
Norma Violet - I like how the consonant-based Norma is evened out with the vowely VioletNorman Alfred - Sounds like a gentle old grandfather with a moustache who wears argyle sweaters & corduroy trousers and has a favourite armchair. AND THAT IS A COMPLIMENT
Norman Arthur - Fluueahg this is a major culture clash for me with the medieval English King Arthur and the Norman Invasion. I don't know whether I like it or not but it is a whole lot of epicness going on in one name

I can't get behind Norman - it just makes me think of a middle aged man with shorts pulled up to his sagging chest shouting at cars from his porch. Or something.
Having said that, I'd rather see a Norman in the Birth Announcements over Connor, Dylan, Aiden, Jacob or something similar. Norma is just fabulous. She's sweet and strong. I'd want a Norma Jean so bad if it weren't for the Monroe association (hard to shake). More ideas:Norma Beth
Norma Blanche
Norma Camille
Norma Constance
Norma Claudine
Norma Dorothy
Norma Fern
Norma Friederike
Norma Godelieve
Norma Guinevere
Norma Hyacinthe
Norma Hortensia
Norma Iphigenia
Norma Isotta
Norma Lavender (I swear it works!)
Norma Leopoldine
Norma Louise
Norma Myrtle
Norma Parthenia

Norma Violette
Norma VivienNorman Clive

Norman Isaac
Norman OscarNorman Felix, Norma Violette and Norma Lucille get my vote - they seem to capture the spirit perfectly. Norman Clive is a close second.

Sigh-worthy...I'm quite fond of Norman. I would have Norman Alastair on my list, except that I slightly prefer Edmumd Alastair, but it was a very close call. Have been considering Norman Rafe, but he still needs work. Rufus is out for me, as I've got Benjamin Rufus already, but Norman Rufus is certainly another standout on your list, as is Norman Felix. :)Other faves from your list...Norman Alaric
Norman Aldous
Norman Archibald
Norman Arthur
Norman Edward
Norman Elliot
Norman Frederick
Norman Hugh
Norman Hugo
Norman Leo
Norman Leopold
Norman Lucius
Norman SylvesterI've never been especially drawn to Norma or tried to pair her, until today when I was inexplicably drawn to placing her as mn to Josephine. Josephine Norma suffers from a clashing of "n"s, though I *can* say it properly, but she somehow still felt at home to me. Norma Josephine, though, has nothing in her way and is my hands-down favorite from your list.

They're a little dusty and nasal for me, but they'd be interesting to see. Norman reminds me of Norman Rockwell. For Norma, I like the old-lady-chic and Scandanavian mn's:
Norma Clothilde
Norma Winifred
Norma Dagny
Norma Sigrid
Norma Signy
Norma Solveig
Norma Enid
Norma Verity
Norma Eugenie
Norma Eulalie
Norma Ingrid
Norma GudrunAnd Norman is sort of cute with the surnamey names and bumbling-old-man names:
Norman Alfred
Norman Archibald
Norman Frederick
Norman Giles
Norman Wilfred
Norman Gottlieb
Norman Hugh
Norman Siegfried
Norman Wallace (As in Wallace & Gromit, of course...)
Norman Rufus
Norman Edgar
Norman Cecil
Norman Chester
Norman Clive
Norman Oscar
Norman Oswald
Norman Ichabod

There's a lady that lives down the street from me, by the name of Norma. She's in her 70's, and hates her name. She said "it's so ugly!" I'm not too keen on it myself, it's sounds so old and heavy. I feel the same way about Norman, but when I think about the actor Norman Wisdom, it doesn't seem so bad on a male. He was so funny!

I feel pretty much the same about both names. Norman doesn't jump out at me, but it's OK -- even though it does make me think of Norman Bates! Norma, however, is the name of my 79-year-old mother. So for me it's inextricably associated with old ladies. I find it rather unattractive.
