Generally I prefer Roman names- they seem more, I don't know, solid? To the point? Earthy? Some though I just can't decide between:Salacia
Aphrodite
Mars
Diana
Minerva
Flora
Saturn
Demeter
Dionysus
Aurora
Eris
Cupid
Gaia
Irene
Pluto
Hecate
Sol
Hera
Hermes
Hephaestus
Vesper
Hestia or Vesta - Both!
Hypnos
Persephone
Neptune
Selene or Luna - Both!
Silvanus
Fortuna
Jupiter

Keep in mind that I have very little knowledge of Greek or Roman mythology, so my choices are purely on the names alone with no influences from their histories.Salacia
Aphrodite- This one was hard because I don't think I can take either seriously.
Ares
Diana- I adore Diana.
Athena- Can't quite get over the "witchiness" of Minerva yet. Athena is goregous.
Flora
Saturn- Because I really don't like Cronus.
Demeter- Both are great, but I slightly prefer Demeter.
Dionysus
Eos
Discordia- But it does remind me of out-of-synch chords because of the "dis" prefix.
Eros
Gaia
Irene
Hades
Hecate
Helios
Juno- These two were about even, but I love June and Juniper, so Juno won out.
Mercury
Vulcan
Vesper
Hestia
Somnus
Persephone
Neptune
Selene or Luna- Can't choose. I love them both.
Silvanus
Fortuna
JupiterI'd actually consider Diana, Athena, Selene and Luna in real life.

On a whole, I like the Roman ones better, but I do think a few of the Greek ones are cool.

Overall, I'm more a fan of Greek names than Roman names. However, the few Roman names I like better than their Greek counterparts in this list are Flora, Ceres, Discordia, Luna, Silvanus and Fortuna. Out of the rest, I like the Greek versions better.

Very good, interesting question!Amphitrite or Salacia -- I've always though Amphitrite is one of the greatest Greek mythology names (and Salacia sounds like salacious, so...)
Aphrodite or Venus -- Aphrodite
Ares or Mars -- I don't know. They're both good, but I think Mars had a more positive connotation, so I'll go with Mars
Artemis or Diana -- Artemis, mostly for the unusualness
Athena or Minerva -- Athena
Chloris or Flora -- Flora
Cronus or Saturn -- they're both so cool! Why do I have to choose?
Demeter or Ceres -- another case where I can't really choose
Dionysus or Bacchus -- Dionysus
Eos or Aurora -- Aurora
Eris or Discordia -- Eris for use, Discordia because it's great
Eros or Cupid -- Eros
Gaia or Tellus -- Gaia
Irene or Pax -- as it is, Pax, but I love Irena and other versions of the name that end in a
Hades or Pluto -- they're both good
Hecate or Trivia -- Hecate, because it fits the idea better

Dear me, it really is about half and half. I can't even find a clear gender divide. There are so many pairings that I love both of (Athena and Minerva, Selene and Luna, Persephone and Proserpina, Poseidon and Neptune). Can't I just have both?
