I am starting to really like the name Johannah. What do you think?

I like it! I definitely prefer this spelling-- I think it makes the pronunciation clearer. Plus it just looks unbalanced and incomplete to me without the final h. But this is how my best friend spells her name, so I'm biased :)

It's very nice. Personally, I prefer the spelling Johanna. The h on the end looks unnecessary to me. And it associates the name with Hannah for me, and methinks that one is just way too popular.

You don't need the "h" on the end. Johanna isn't Jo + Hannah. It's the feminine form of Johannes.
Johanna, which I pronounce "jo-HAN-uh," is a charming, nostalgic, grand and stately name. It was my great-grandmother's name. My Aunt Joan was named after her, using the more stream-lined, Art Deco, style that was popular when she was born in the 1920's. And now Johanna's frills are popular again. Everything old is new again. :-)

I ADORE it! I wanted to name my first daughter this name, but my hubby wasn't as sold on it. So I used it in the MN slot (spelled Johanna - prn Jo-Hannah). It is one of my favorite names with either spelling.

I really like Johanna, but that -h makes the name look really stretched to me, and also a bit masculine. But whatever, I like the name pronounced either way. I think it's very soft and pretty.

I like the spelling Johanna and the pronunciation "yo-HAHN-uh." Johannah (especially if pronounced like Joe-Hannah) seems to me a particularly unintellectual and unhistorical concoction.

Unfortunately in Anytown, USA - most people are not going to say Yo-HAHN-uh. The American English way of saying this name is either Joanna or Jo-Hannah. I care for a 100 year old lady in the nursing home who is of pure Dutch heritage, and this is her name. Her name is Americanized to be pronounced "Jo-Hannah" even though in Holland obviously they wouldn't say it that way. Actually, I know a couple of old Dutch and German ladies that have this name and pronounce it this way.
