I don't like it. I'm not sure why, it's just not my style. Maybe it feels dated to me or something. I don't know. There are a few Mer-sounding names I like, and I like Edith, but apparently together, I don't care for it.

Also Meredi is the same number of syllables and doesn't really strike me as a nickname that would come naturally at all. I guess it would work, but it'd be something you'd really have to push on people.
