Things had been going so well for Belle and Adam. They were gaining more and more duties as Prince and Princess, as King Etienne was planning to abdicate as soon as he felt they were ready. They had two children who were everything they could have wished for in a daughter and son, a beautiful home with servants who were their friends, and when Giacomo was a year and a half old, they received wonderful news. Eglantine told them that the group of enchanters they were fighting appeared to have disbanded. Almost all of those they had cursed were free, and it seemed as if their power had fizzled out. Their joy and relief led to increased time spent together in bed, and soon Belle found herself pregnant again. This was amidst a general expanding of her entire family, which had grown a great deal since Belle's mariage. Arthur came only weeks after she married, Suzanne and Gio arrived the same year Mirabelle did. The year after them came little Martin, and then the year of Giacomo's birth Marguerite stunned them all by announcing she was going to be married. A magnificent artist, she had devoted herself to her work and never seemed to care very much if she ever married at all. She was the sibling who spent the most time at court, as her skills made her very in-demand as a portrait-painter. She met Taddeo at the palace, where he was an under-chef. Belle and Adam both hertily approve of him, and insisted on helping with the wedding, which took place soon after Giacomo was born. One year later she welcomed little Fiorella at the same time as Vivi and Edmond were all born. All three were born within the same two months. As it was said, things were going well for Adam and Belle and their family, and with the danger seemingly passed they couldn't wait to have a baby they wouldn't have to fear for.
But it was not to be. Eight months into Belle's pregnancy, Eglantine returned, frantic. The band of enchanters hadn't disbanded, they had simply gone to the rulers they had corrupted and were goading them to war. Three of the countries had already launched attacks on one another, and they were planning to attack Renoir. Belle and Adam were stunned, and the shock caused Belle to go into labor. She delivered a healthy, though slightly small, baby girl, and immediately Eglantine performed the same charms over her she did on Mirabelle and Giacomo. They named her Arianna, a name agreed upon before the bad news. Jacqueline was after Adam's mother, Marie Maddalena for the saint and the Virgin, strong women who lived through trying times. Yvonne is the name of a Renoiran heroine who helped a city withstand a siege for seven years by bringign in supplies through underground tunnels. They hope that giving their daughter the names of these strong women will help her, as with war beginning all around them they want her to be as strong as possible.
