I think September is bad (sorry). But if anything it is masculine and the only month name I can think of that I see as masculine. Sept I guess would be the nn. Month names aren't good for nn.

Sep, Seppie, Ember, Emmy, Em, Temby, Settie?

I like it, and prefer it as a feminine name. I'm not too fond of Sept and Sep, but I like Ember, and I find Em and Emmie / Emmy decent as nicknames for September. I suppose that a boy named September could go by Em or Ember, but they seem better suited for girls given the popularity of Amber, Emma, and Emily for girls.

I bowled against a girl named September in high school. The other girls on her team just called her September; no nickname.

There's a singer who uses September as her stage name. I like her music, but I don't like September as a first name. It looks too out there to be a name...
