I would like to know what the name 'Sölvi' means... it is an Icelandic male name. Hope any of you can help with this :)

According to W.Seibicke HDV the name is derived either from:
Old Nordic "sal-" (hall, house) + "warrior" or + "holy"
or from:
a word meaning "pale" (literally "coloured like the yolk of an egg")
