I think it's a nice name. It's sweet and happy and upbeat.
You would probably have to often correct pronunciation and spelling, but when it's for a legitimate name that you love, that prospect doesn't bother me as much. The pronunciation and spelling are simple and logical, so at least once someone hears it it won't be hard for them to understand and remember.
I actually have met a girl named Ione who was a few years younger than me. But she pronounced it ie-OHN. I didn't know her well enough to have the courage to ask her her middle name or tell how much trouble she had with her name.
