I know of four possible Irish-Gaelic sources, listed below with their most frequent anglicizations.
masculine:
Aibhne- Avna, Aveny, Eveny
Éimhín- Evin, Evan
feminine:
Aoibheann- Eavan, (sometimes rendered as Yvonne & Evelyn)
Aoibhfhionn- (the likely original form of Aoibheann)
Eabhán- Even, Aven

There is an Irish actress named Evin Crowley. I can't remember her last name, but she played Emily, the naive scullery maid in the classic British series "Upstairs Downstairs". I know she pronounced it "EE-vin", because in one episode where she falls for one of the footmen, he calls her Emily and she says it isn't her real name, Evin is, but people in England "can't get their tongues round it". So it'll be just another Anglicization of Aoibheann, along the lines of Eavan.
