Five new arrivals in the last five years. A year after Annie was born, Mary came into the world with the name Damaris Hannah. When Mary was two, Elise--full name Elisheba Judith--entered the home of the Bellwins to stay. When Elise was one, Esther Jemima came to stay. Now, when Essie is two, Elise is three, and Mary is five, twin boys have come into the family. Isaac and Cassie have welcomed little Bartholomew Caleb and Benjamin Daniel into their home.
Addy is in seven grade. She is still quite the artist. Everyday, the first thing Addy does when she gets to school is pull out a sheet of blank white paper. She starts sketching, and continues to sketch until (a) she's finished or (b) her teacher walks into the room. It is very hard for her to put it away when she hasn't finished by the time her teacher walks in. She's learned her lesson about that, though, because she was caught once continuing her drawing when her teacher was talking. Everyone is saying that she will become an illustrator or an animator--and some say she will be both.
Deena is in fifth grade, and, like Addy is still the little artist, she is still the little reader. She's been known to read books that most people her age take weeks--or maybe even months--to read in about half that time. People are telling Isaac and Casie that their Deena will maybe someday be a public speaker or an author. some say she will share her time with those who don't know how to read very well. Deena likes this idea.
Danny is in fourth grade. He's become a great young mathematician. Dunstan--as he's been trying to convince everyone to call him, for he's beginning to find Danny a little "young" for him--even helps Deena with her math, as he has come to the point of being so good that his teachers moved him up a grade in math. People are saying that young Dunstan Bellwin will be a math teacher at some point in his life.
Iona and Finn are in third grade. Iona is quite the graceful little thing, always dancing about. Her parents put her in ballet, jazz, and a few other types of dancing, and she loves them all! She can be found dancing about and singing. Finn is quite the young actor. He's always acting out some scene or another. During recess, he can be found surrounded by a group of people laughing at his goofy antics. Finn is in a theatre class and loving it. People are suggesting that Iona will be a dancer/singer and that Finn will be an actor. Who knows, maybe they'll both show up on Broadway (as Finn's acting has rubbed off on Iona, and Iona's dancing and singing has rubbed off on Finn)!
Annie is in first grade. Already, she is quite the child for history. She'll read any easy history book she can get her hands on. If she is around when somebody asks a question about history--right now she knows much about U.S. history--that person may not get an answer from the person they are asking, but from Annie. People are speculating that she will teach history...though to what age group she will teach hasn't been decided on by the public.
Mary is in kindergarten. She is a young reader, just like Deena, but she is more into poetry and short stories. She even writes her own poems and short stories, and they are quite nice for having been written by a five-year-old. People are telling Isaac and Cassie that Mary will be a poet or children's author when she grows up.
Three-year-old Elise loves to play outside with Essie. Essie and Elise are best friends. They look much alike, too, and they've even been mistaken for twins, as Essie is quite tall for her age. Essie and Elise enjoy pretending they are twins, because they are so much alike.
Kale and Ben are loved greatly by all of their older siblings. The two of them don't look nearly as much alike as Essie and Elise or Iona and Finn. People can't believe that they are twins, because they look so different. Kale has light hair, dark eyes, rounded features, and a winning smile, while Ben has dark hair, light eyes, sharper features, and an adorable smile.
Isaac has been part of a small doctors' practice in the town in which the Bellwins live. He is a pediatrician and quite successful. The practice has Isaac and one other doctor, who sees adults. Even if there was a second pediatrician at the practice, most people would prefer to go to Isaac, as he is compassionate, loving, kind, and just the kind of guy parents would want their children to see as a doctor.
Cassie has been very busy with her children. With eleven children at age thirty-five, people often wonder how she does it. Cassie admits that if it weren't for God she probably wouldn't even be able to keep up with all of her kids. She loves them all, and she knows that they are blessings from God. Even with eleven kids, both Isaac and Cassie are open to any more God may bless them with.
