I find it pretty dated to the 80s and 90s. I don't like it all that much. It's not my style.

You don't really hear/see it used on little girls in Australia these days either. It's not a horrible name, but it does sound slightly dated to me. That said, I think it's still usable.

Samantha is a very pretty name. I've only known two Samantha's all my life. I'd love to meet a little Samantha for a change. :)

Well Samantha is quite popular for girls my age, but you're right, it's not so popular now. Personally I love it. My grandpa was Samuel too, so I've considered it. I think it's a lovely name, but I'm not crazy about Sam or Sammi.

I have a cousin named Samantha; she's 11 years old. I don't see it as dated, because it's still moderately popular after 20-30 years of use. If it were dated, I think it would have faded a bit by now, but it seems to be hanging around.

Good thing, too, because I really like it. It's a sweet, soft sort of name, but it still has a backbone. A Samantha knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it (or maybe I'm just thinking of my cousin).

I don't think it's too dated at all. I'm in Canada, and every now and then I've met a Samantha. One is 13 now and one is 11. And my friends just had a baby in February that they named Samantha Grace. I think it's a great way to honour Sam.

I like Samantha. It is a bit dated but it is a pretty name and not too frilly. My Dad adores the name Samantha and has pushed for it for everyone of his daughters and never succeeded. It is definitely still usable IMO.

I'm not sure about in the UK, but in the US it is still a well used name. Not to the point where I am constantly meeting little Samantha's, but common enough for me not to think twice about it.

It's a pretty name and definitely usable. It's still popular here in the U.S., but less so than it used to be. I don't think it's too dated.

I like Samantha. However, it's still pretty overused where I live, so I probably wouldn't use it.

I know TOO many Samantha's my age... but you're right, you don't really see it on babies right now. It's okay, sort of a harsh sounding name. To be honest, I just really love 'Sam', even for a girl.
