Isaac's practice is going smoothly. Everything is working out fine.
Cassie is forty-one. She can't believe how large her family has gotten. Cassie adores all thirteen of her children. She's leaving their every day survival up to God. She knows that He'll let them live. He has a plan for them, and Mrs. Bellwin knows that.
Addy is eighteen and in college. She's met a young man in college who has become her boyfriend. His father is Dutch and his mother is Italian. As he is one of a large family, he is one of the Langbroeks who has Italian first names and middle names. The other half (for there is an even number of them) have Dutch first names and middle names. Addy is studying art, and so Jack, her boyfriend. They first started talking one day when they were assigned to draw each other. Both of the drawings turned out well, though the styles were quite different. Addy drew Jack in a more realistic sense, and Jack drew Addy in a slightly modern style. They switched drawings after their teacher checked them off, and that was the start of a great relationship. Addy is hoping to be an illustrator and Jack wants to be an animator. Who would've thought that these two would meet?
Deena is a junior in high school. She finds enough to make it through books easily, though how is a wonder to some people. She's also begun to write--mostly short story-like chapters. In the past six years, she's written a full book and two-thirds of another. All of her English teachers wonder at the talent of this young author. And her vocabulary. Deena is always using large words... some, even, that no one has heard for a long time. She's also written plays... and music. Deena has written the school plays since spring her freshman year. Speculation about what she's going to do has grown... author... playwright... public speaker... English teacher... no one can agree anymore! And Deena doesn't care what other people think. She's going to let God guide her.
Dan, as Dunstan has become known instead of Danny, is a sophomore in high school. He is still quite the mathematician. The teachers have bumped him up one more grade in math, so he is now doing 12th grade level math. He has quite the head for mathematics. As he, too, is interested in teaching people about his favorite subject, it appears that the Bellwins may end up with two professors: Annie and Dan.
Iona and Finn are in ninth grade. They are both in the theatre club. When the freshmen in their school put on programs (which happens about once every quarter), Iona and Finn get the leads. They're always humming or singing or dancing--or sometimes dancing and humming or dancing and singing--as they go down the halls. Iona is still in dance, and has gone up on pointe in ballet. Finn has become known as the best actor in his grade--if not one of the best in the school. Iona is the best actress in her grade. And they are both very responsible. It appears as people may possibly be correct about Iona and Finn's future as well.
Annie has become her the teacher's assistant in her seventh grade history class. That's how into history she is. She knows so much about history that her teacher can't let her answer any questions... which bums the other students in her class out. They were hoping she'd answer all the questions, allowing them to get away with not studying or remembering. Annie is also interested in becoming a teacher. It seems that the predictions about Annie's future may be correct: a history teacher or possibly professor.
Mary is in sixth grade. Her poetry and short stories continue to improve. Many of them have been published in her school's newspaper, and some even in books of poems by young poets. People still comment on her poetry. It is still a large possibility that Mary will be a poet.
Elise is in fourth grade. She and Essie are still best friends, though she has a best friend in school. Her name is Daisy Wills. Elise and Daisy clicked ever since they met in kindergarten. When Daisy moved in next door, Elise was overjoyed. She and Daisy are both very interested in sports--mainly soccer. People are saying that these two youngsters will become great sports stars. But who knows?
Essie is in third grade. She is above average in all her subjects, just like the rest of her siblings. She enjoys looking around at nature, as all creation intrigues her. People are saying that she will be a meteorologist of something of the likes.
Kale and Ben are in first grade. Kale is quite the little smarty, and Ben is rather behind. Teachers have moved Kale up and--poor Ben!--kept Ben back. When the news was broken to the boys, Ben just broke down. "I don't want to stay back, mommy! I don't want to! I'm not bad," he cried. Kale was sobbing, too. "Ben is good, mommy. He's really, really good. Why does he have to stay back?" Isaac and Cassie consoled the boys, telling them that it was for the best. Kale refused to go ahead, even to second grade, without his brother. Ben refused to go to school altogether the next year. It was a hard decision, but Isaac and Cassie finally decided to homeschool Ben and Kale. It's for the best.
Four years ago, Em was born. Gemma Lucia Bellwin was named after Sts. Gemma and Lucia. Gemma and Lucia were both martyrs, and Isaac and Cassie feel that they are great role models for their little girl. Em is quiet. Very quiet. Sometimes it seems as if she can't speak at all. She is a very courteous young girl.
Two years ago, Lola was born. Shiloh Mercy Bellwin was named for the virtues of tranquility and mercy. Lola is a little darling. She's been that sort of happy-go-lucky child her whole two years. No one can mistake that.
