[Opinions] Noa
I'm really, really liking this name right now, however I'm a bit concerned. Noah is a fairly common male name around here and I'm afraid she'll be constantly thought of as male. Could it work? I especially love the meaning of 'motion.'

Motion, eh? Funny, I always think of seasickness ...
I dislike both of them, because it seems to me that starting a child's name with something that sounds like "NO" is depressing, negative and quite simply unfair.

It is too close to Noah for me...
Do you live in an area where Noah is popular for boys, or where Noah and Noa are both popular for boys? I think if only Noah is popular, Noa would be thought of as a girl name.
Yeah, that makes sense. Because I've only ever heard of Noah for a boy. So Noa looked a little girly to me right off the hop.
I don't think so. I only see it as a variant on Noah.
I imagine people in my area would think it was pretty strange to see a girl named Noa(h). I've never heard of it. But many other names have become acceptable for girls, so I'm guessing Noa could follow suit. Truthfully, I don't mind if too much for a girl. I'm not actually really a fan of it for a boy.
That is a cool meaning indeed.
motion - Noah
movement - Ritika
flow - Cadence, Jordan (also biblical), Rhea

I like Noa a lot. I don't think the boy/girl name thing really matter anymore with lots of girls having male names.
I love it, but I prefer it spelled Noah for a girl. Noah is also a biblical girls name.
Yeah, there might be some problems. Noah used to be my favorite girls name and people were always telling me how it was exclusively male (which it is not) and being really defensive and negative about it.
In Israel Noa, Noah is a really common girls name it was the number one baby name for girls for several years and I think it still is but I'm not sure. There they don't seem to use Noah for a boy at all only Noach which is what the guy with the ark was originally called but it was translated as Noah.

I think is has a light, fresh feel to it that's pleasant. And she wouldn't get thought of as a boy any more than all those other girl's with actual boy's names... but at least her name really isn't a boy's name and then she can school people. :)
