Why would you want an alternative for Otto? You like it, or you don't. There's no good reason to treat it like a lump of Play-doh. Multiple spellings for made-up names (and we can all think of several) are one thing; but getting gratuitously kre8iv with a name that has a distinguished pedigree right back to the Middle Ages seems disrespectful.
That said, I would only use Otto for an Old English sheepdog or similar animal - the kind where you only know which end is the front when it moves forward! Otto and Anna. Good reversible names for those dogs.
