[Opinions] Kielo
What do you think of Kielo for a girl? It means "lily of the valley" in Finnish.

I like the name as well as the meaning, but it isn't among my favorite Finnish names.

It's cool. It doesn't seem like something that would mean "lily of the valley"-- it seems sort of wild almost, or super-cool (at least from the perspective of a random American who knows absolutely no Finnish :P), not tame and flowery like I'd expect it to be. The O ending might make it seem less feminine, but it also makes it seem cool.

The meaning is really lovely but before reading it I assumed Kielo was a boys name

Poisonous name for a poisonous plant. I love the flower - both its looks and meaning - but as a word and name it's very unattractive.

Oh, I wasn't even aware of the poisonous plant! Thank you.

How do you pronounce it: KEE-lo? Cool, if that's right. I doesn't sound very feminine, but the right girl could pull it off. I just read Saana's comment, but I don't think that is common enough knowledge to worry about it. I don't think I'd have the nerve to use it, but I'd be in support of someone else doing it. I'd for sure use it on a dog.
