[Opinions] Re: Amias vs Amyas
in reply to a message by Bex
I have not seen Amias before but I have seen Amaia and Amaya. It surprises me that the names are not derivatives of each other.
1) I prefer Amias for a boy - the "y" makes it seem more feminine to me. I'm not sure why. If you are interested in using it as a girl's name, may I suggest Amaia or Amaya instead?
2) Amias Leon, Amias Lazzaro, Amias Sean, Amias Richard, Amias Theodore
3) Yes to Theodore, No to Ignatius (too many "s" sounds) and definitely NO to Daphne. However, Daphne Amaia or Daphne Amaya sounds fine.
Do you like any of the suggestions?
