Just curious.I know Izzy is ussually used for girls as a nickname for Isabel (or names closely like this)But do you think Izzy could be used as a nick name for a boy named Isaiah?

Eh, it's okay for a really little kid. I much prefer Saiah / Zaiah though.

I don't like it as a nn for a boy, no.:)

There's a locally famous guy around here name Izzy Asper and his Izzy is short for Israel. I'd say absolutely, it'd make a great nn for Isaiah. And any other Is- boys name.

I was thinking about Izzy for a boy yesterday! I heard a song by Guns N' Roses on the radio on my way home and one of the guarist was named Izzy Stradlin (a stage name, his real name was Jeffrey Dean Isbell) Anyway, I think it's a cool name/nickname but probably hard to pull off in real life.
I like the idea of Isaiah nn Izzy though.

When I saw this thread I instantly thought of Izzy Stradlin.

Sure, what's wrong with Izzy for a boy? It's unisex, imo.

As a nickname, sure. I think nicknames can be almost anything really and don't have to make sense in relation to a name. I had some nicknames related to my name but others that were not.

or IsraelThe 3 yr old Israel that I looked after back home went by Izzy most of the time. It suited him.So yeah, I thik Izzy is fine for a nickname for boy. Isiaiah, Israel..maybe evn Isaac. Or Isidore.

Of course! I must say, though, that I vastly prefer Isidore NN Izzy.

Totally could. It's a cool name. The similar name Iggy works, so why not Izzy?

Cool.I like Izzy for a boy. It's unapolegetically dorky and it flips the bird to all the people who get up in arms about giving boys girls' names.
