DH and I just saw the movie "Casanova" and for some reason Sienna Miller's character made me see the name Francesca in a new light (that ever happen to you?).

DH has always loved Francesca, and I'm not completely sold, but it is growing on me. The possibility of nn Fran totally gags me though. Wdyt? Thanks!

I love the name Francesca! Fran is not so great though. Cesca makes a cute nn instead.

Francesca is beatiful, classic and romantic. Thugh I would use Francie or Cesca as nn.

I love the name Francesca, it's beautiful. Don't worry, I've known a few Francesca's, and none of them ever went by Fran.

Francesca is one of the prettiest and exotic names ever. I love it, and detest Frankie, Fran, Frances, etc. I would INSIST on calling my daughter Francesca or if a nn had to be made - Cesca or Cess (PRN Cheska or Chess)

Francesca is pretty (I perfer Frances even more). Fran is not very nice, that's right, but Franny is cute for a small girl, and there's Cesca of course. If you won't want her to be called Fran, you will not :-).

Francesca is such a beautiful name! Fran isn't so bad, rather old lady-ish I guess, but Francesca really should be used by itself because it's so beautiful withought any nicknames! If anything I'd go with Chesca or Cesca from the last part of the name, that would be georgeous! :)

Love Francesca! I also don't like the nn Fran, so If I use it, the nn will probably be Chesca, which I think is so much cuter.

Francesca is a lovely name in my opinion! As for the nickname Fran, I'm pretty much indifferent on that one (but it probably wouldn't be my first choice for a nickname personally if I were to choose one).

I prefer Frances so much, but I don't mind Francesca, it's just not really my type of name. There could be a number of other NNs than Fran.
