I know a Louette who was named after her grandmothers, Henriette and Louise.
It works very well for her, and people like it. Her fn is actually Suzanne, but she's never gone by it.

If you could find a place that wasn't familiar with the song, it could work. It is a pretty word. I could sing the first verse before I even learned French.

I would totally use it! :3 I used to sing that song all the time when I was little, so it is a good association for me. The song is about the Canadian fur trade. Plus, I think it's such a pretty name.

Definitely not, in my opinion, unless you are naming her for the song, which is about plucking feathers off a small, dead bird. Also, Alouette is a brand of cheese.
