It's one of my favorite names for a boy. I like Mattias too but not enough to ever use it in real life but I would definitely use Matteus. I like the fact that it's rare but not strange and strong but not macho.

It's okay. I dislike Matthew and Matthias, but Matteus and Matteo are both fine for me. I can even like them under certain circumstances. They just seem to feel stronger and more handsome.

I really like the look and sound. Mattias has always been my favorite name, but since it's so common here I started thinking more about Matteus. I like the feel of Matteus better but I still can't let go of Mattias.

yeah , I agree with you ... but I like the sound of Matteus , also because he's a legend of Football with Germany team and with Bayern Munich.
It's a beautiful name.

I like how it would sound, but I don't like how it looks on paper. I prefer the German Matthias.

I like it and prefer it over Matthias / Mattias because those are so common here. Matteus is less boring.

I'm gonna assume this name is pronounce ma-TEE-uss. If so, love it!! However the spelling looks better: Mattias. That's just my opinion. Spelling aside, again, I really like this name
