Do you mean BARUT? or BATUR? They are both rare Polish surnames. From previous post of the Baruta surname, perhaps the surname Barut is a variant of Baruta, which is also a variant of the more common surname Boruta and Boroda, derived from Broda. (http://surnames.behindthename.com/bb/sur/4154988)
The Polish surname Batur perhaps could be a variant of more common surname Batura, both of Western Polish surnames. The surname Batura is a variant of polish surname Badura. The meaning and origins of Badura can be found here (http://www.ancestry.com/facts/Badura-family-history-uk.ashx)
There is also of Turkish origin of the surname Batur and Barut, and possibly there is of Slovenian, German, French, and Indian origin of Batur and Barut...
