This is actually a name one of my friends used for her daughter who is about 8 now. She says it like Elise. She used it because she wanted to call her Ally (which she is 95% of the time). I'm still not sure why she couldn't have been Alexandra or something if her FN was never going to be used anyway...but that's a whole other thing.
