Meya: MAE-A
Meyah: MAE-A

Miah: MIA but maybe MAYA
Miaya: Well I'd probably say MEE-A-YA, but if I had to pick one of these I's say MAYA
Miia: MIA
Miya: MIA
Miyah: MIA or MAYA

This is why I dislike phonetic spellings. It's too subjective. Anyway, for what it's worth:Meia / Meiah / Meiya / Meya / Meyah -- "MAY-uh"Everything else on your list I would assume is "MEE-uh"
________________________________________________________________________________If I wanted something with a "MIE-uh" pronunciation I would spell it Maya and Maia.

Aack! I can't say that any of these "look right" to me, but I'll list my best guess as to what pronunciation was desired for each of these...Meia - MAYA
Meiah - MAYA
Meiya - MAYA
Meya - MAE-A
Meyah - MAE-A
Mhia - MIA
Miah - MIA
Miaya - this look like three syllables to me; an "ia" does not a long "i" make, so MIA
Miia - MIA
Miya - MIA
Miyah - MAYA

This is why I don't like Maya and Mya. I'm never sure how to pronounce them. And why do we need so many spellings?Meia - like Maya
Meiah - like Maya
Meiya - like Maya
Meya - like Mia
Meyah - like Mia
Mhia - like Mia, I guess
Miah - like Mia
Miaya - I would pronounce this me A yah

Miya - like Mia

Is this because you're going through the top 1000 and combining all spellings? :)

You got it!It's getting more and more difficult to comb through spellings, Mia is currently way more popular than Maya, but Maya has traditionally had more Kreativ spellings. I'm inclined to think that, as names get more popular people tend to find more U-neeq spellings for them so most of the above are probably Mia, but I'm still torn. I also don't think many people actually use the Mae-a pronunciation, the girl I knew was probably an anomaly. Don't even get me started on Karyn/Corin/Corinne!

I could never do thatI would be muttering to myself the whole time about how stupid people are because I know there would be spellings that I assume were meant to be pronounced one way, but phonetically wouldn't be. Like the person I heard whose name was Haley, but it was spelled Halley... ummm, no. Or the girl who took our order at Arby's a few days ago was named Kyndra, but she was getting called Kendra. Yaarg.
vote up1
Kyndra sounds like Kendra to me. I can't think of any instance where "kyn" wouldn't sound like "ken/kin" actually
vote up1
To me ken and kin don't sound the same, at least at the beginning of a name. Kin is much more nasally.
vote up1
Ok, I thought you were going for KINE-dra or something. I went to school with a lot of Kendras but in my area there's not such a pronounced difference between 'in' and 'en' so they all sounded about like "Kindra" - though less nasally than you probably imagine
vote up1
Yes, I see you're from southern IL. So I can imagine the accent difference now. :)

Haha! The Corinne spellings drive me crazy too!
