Message: "Alma or Amalia?" - Behind the Name

[Opinions] Alma or Amalia?

I'm torn between these. Amalia is regal and elegant, Alma is more down-to-earth and cozy. I've also toyed with the idea of Amalia nicknamed Alma, but am not sure if that would work.

Which one do you like better, and why?

Amalia nn Alma would be awesome, best of both worlds, personally if I had to choose I would pick Alma, I love how cozy it is and it's beautiful in that simple way, but the regalness of Amalia is nice too, so they make a great pair.

Alma. It's retro with spunk. It makes me think of a fiesty girl who'll probably dye her head read and be interested in rock music and animal rights.

Amalia is pretty but doesn't have the same appeal to me. Amalia would probably follow the crowd.

I voted for Amalia, nn Alma, on your poll. :-)

I love both names and this way you get the best of both worlds. I've thought about Molly as a nn for Amalia, but not Alma. Thanks for the tip.
