[Opinions] Oliver, Olive, and Olivia.
So I forget how it happened (I think I won a bet...) but I gained the rights to name my good friend's first born! If possible, she plans to have five children. Her favourite colour has always been green (when we were young her entire wardrobe contained green clothing) and I remember her liking the name Olive when we were kids. I plan to incorporate this and use an Olive-based name for the kid's first name.First of all, do you prefer Olive or Olivia more for a girl? Do you think Olive is too plain or noun-ish for a name? I kind of like how it Olive isn't as popular or as girlie as Olivia. So I guess it depends on if the first born is a male or female for whether I'd go with Oliver or Olive/Olivia. Do you have any Olive-based alternative names you like? Also, if you're interested, come up with as many or as few middle names as you like for whichever first name(s) you're more interested in.AND if you're really bored, you can name the other four children too! Maybe have a theme, like names that relate to the colour green or something.TIA!

I like Oliver and Olivia. Oliver sounds friendly and gentlemanly, and Olivia is beautiful. If only Olivia weren't so popular.Olive is too noun-ish for my liking, but I've seen it used as a first name enough times that it doesn't strike me as odd. I just don't really care for the sound of it, and I'm generally not too big on using "food" names.

I find Olive really plain and also dated. I also find it difficult to not think of the colour olive (which is an unattractive colour to me) and the food (bleurgh! lol). However, Olivia is really really popular and therefore not very exciting.Oliver is my favourite.

I'm sorry if this isn't terribly helpful. It's been a long day and my brain is dumb now.Until recently I hated Olivia, but now I really like it. However, with something so common I think you really need an unusual or retro middle name, like Olivia Joan / Olivia Frances / Olivia Marguerite / Olivia Johanna.I've always loved Olive. It can be a bit plain (although in a really cute way, like Jean or Joan), so maybe pair it with a longer middle name? My favorite female Olive name is Olivette. I think it's just so spunky and fun. Plus you could call her Lettie, which I just love.I love Oliver also. It's very handsome.

Olivia is more classic. Olive is more edgy, but still classic. It would take a confident girl / woman to wear Olive. But you can come up with loads of Olivia combos. Olive is more fun because it's such a challenge. So how about:Olive Theodora
Olive Muriel
Olive Betrys
Olive Margaret
Olive Timothea
Olive Eugenie
Olive Diane
Olive MorwennaOops. Must run. Chloe means "green shoot" and Midori means green. Vivien Midori is a stock combo of mine. That's all the siblings I can think of for now. Good luck!
