I have always liked Javier because I love the way it sounds. It's definitely a Spanish classic.

It's a nice handsome name and I have known several nice, handsome Javiers. Can't imagine it on a non-Hispanic person, though.

Fine in a Hispanic accent - http://www.forvo.com/word/javier/ - but it doesn't work as well in other accents.

I like it a lot! I didn't used to, but I think the nickname Javi is awesome.

I really like Javier, and I think I'm beginning to prefer it to Xavier. However, I don't think I could ever use it. It would seem strange, because I have no Hispanic ancestry at all. ETA: Also, Javier Bardem is a great actor, and this name makes me think of him, but it's a good association.

I have always liked it - my brother had a friend called Javier when he was in school (he was on an exchange from Spain) and my husband has a Cuban-Canadian friend called Javier.
