I don't mind the name, though I wouldn't personally use it. I would pronounce it ROM-illy.

I don't like it. It sounds like either a French surname or place name.

I actually think it looks really pretty. I am not so keen on the way it sounds though. I say ROH-mill-ee (short O sound, like in crow)

There is a BBC journalist called Romilly - only time I've heard it - and she pronounces it ROM-i-lee, first syllable rhymes with Tom. I think it's lovely.

A name that I don't dare touch as it feels far too fragile for my tastes, which is odd considering my addiction to "Frilliana".

I like it. It has quite a creative, arty vibe to me. I've heard it ROM-illy. I know there used to be an ITV reporter called Romilly Weeks (I think) and a friend from work named her daughter Romilly a couple of years ago.

I say it RO-mill-ee. But, I've never heard the name pronounced, that's just what it looks like to me. I really like it. I especially like the nickname potential. Ro, Romy, Rome, Milly. Ah, I'm in love.

This nameI feel like Romilly is a sleeper fave. I've seen it here and there and I'm very curious about it. Where is it from, what does it mean? I know Emma Thompson's daughter is Gaia Romilly. I say it like "Rommel-ee". I like to look at it, but I find it awkward to say. It's one of my look-but-don't-touch names.

I feel like it narrowly missed a trend, too - Romy plus Emily/Amelie, it could have been a contender. It's a surname-name from a French placename, there's a decent user entry on here for it. It is quite attractive, but doesn't have enough history as a first name for me.

What does "sleeper fave" mean?

I mean it seems sort of secretly popular, and likely to heat up once more people discover it.

This sounds rightWhen I first came to this site a few years ago, I was seeing it all over the polls (and maybe the boards, I don't remember).
