We live in Austria
where we both work as editors--Benny at a publishing house and me at a magazine:
in 2012, we fulfill our lifelong (since we met) dream of getting married;
in 2013, we take a long-anticipated trip to Ireland;
in 2014, we fulfill our dream of owning our own home, an apartment in Mariahilf, Vienna;
in 2015, we join my family for a very special Christmukkah in Mexico City;
in 2016, we adopt our first child, a 3-year-old girl from Austria whose name is Lisa Amelie; she has straight blonde hair and green eyes;
in 2017, I move from editing the front end of the magazine to the features;
in 2018, we sold our apartment and moved back to Manhattan, where we met;
in 2019, we spent three beautiful months in Provence with our daughter;
in 2020, a pair of red-tail hawks nested in the eaves of our building, and we got to see their two eyasses hatch;
in 2021, Benny was terribly injured when his cab got hit on the Westside Highway;
in 2022, for the first time, we shared all the Jewish holidays with Benny's parents at their house in Long Island;
in 2023, I surprised everyone by giving birth to a girl with wavy red hair and gray eyes, who we named Shaina Ruth;
in 2024, Benny tragically died;
in 2025, I gave birth to twin daughters conceived before Benny's death; they have wavy light brown hair and amber eyes, and I named them Bina Yehudis and Bluma Yocheved, after their father;
in 2026, we celebrated Lisa's bat mitzvah;
in 2027, Benny's mother, who had grown close to the girls, died;
in 2028, we moved to London, for a change in air;
in 2029, I gave birth to twin daughters again--the father is my boyfriend, Harith Afzal Khan, a fellow editor at the magazine; they have straight black hair and brown eyes and we named them Sarai Eshal and Isra Batul;
in 2030, I gave birth to my first son, Omar Abraham, who has black eyes, like his father, Harith, and oddly blondish hair;
in 2031, I get promoted to managing editor--now I'm Harith's boss!
