I haven't really thought much of Angela before - so WDYT? Too dated? I used to like Angelina but the popularity is making me like it less these days, and I think Angela is a little more sophisticated.

I agree: Angela is much prettier and more restrained! But it's still a lot to live up to. I knew an Angela once who chose to go by Jill, which is a whole lot better than Angie.

I don't think of Angela as sophisticated but I do think it is a nice name. It has a common, almost plain feel to me. It is a little dated but overall I find it a good solid classic choice.

I love it. I think it has a slightly dated feel, but in a good way. It feels mature. But it's also very classic and has a great pious, motherly feel to it. That's the sort of feel I love most in a girl's name.

I like Angela. It sounds pretty.

I don't think it's dated. My mom's younger sister Angela was born when the name was very popular, but she was named after her maternal grandmother (my great-grandmother). Angela is pretty timeless IMO.

I think Angela is okay, a little dated. Angelina is too frilly for me, but I do really like Angeline.
