Recently I have begun to like this name more and more. What are your opinions? And combo ideas?

The evangelical connection puts me off. And it's a bit too frilly for my tastes and it's getting very popular.
which is all a shame as it would be a nice way to honour my mother, but I don't like it for myself, sorry.
Oh and I really dislike Eve and Evie for a nn. There are so many out there now.

I love Evangeline! It's very pure and bright. I like the numerous nickname options, my favorite being Evie.
I really like it. Partly the reason is because I love the nicknames Eva and Evie, so I love most names which offer those as logical nicknames. However I do sometimes think that Evangeline sounds a bit too religiousy (like the Evangelicals)
The first time I ever heard this name was in the "Nanny Mcphee" movie. I absolutely fell in love with it. It has hopped on and off of my list several times. Recently though I have been finding too long. I am starting to trend towards liking shorter versions of names. I love Eve, Eva, Evie. At the moment those names are kicking Evangeline off the list. It is a beautiful name though.
It is very sophisticated & glamorous but I can also picture it on a child. I don't usually like such long princessy type names but I love the sound of this. And I think Evie is an adorable nickname.
I loved this name after I first read Uncle Tom's Cabin. I thought it was outrageously lovely, almost unbearably beautiful. Its charms have waned a bit because it seems really popular now among those who fancy themselves egdily classy, but I still like it. And I'd still use it.
I'd combo it Evangeline Harriet, Evangeline Ophelia, or Evangeline Eliza, in honour of where I first fell in love with it. I know a lot of people dislike the book, but at the time I read it, I thought it was beautiful.
Or
Evangeline Sylvia
Evangeline Fern
Evangeline Marian
Evangeline Norah
Evangeline Joan, Evangeline Jane
to use some honouring names :)
